Tommy Lee Jones has been supported by his family throughout his career.
Jones was married twice — to Kate Lardner from 1971 to 1978 and to Kimberlea Cloughley from 1981 to 1996 — before tying the knot with current wife Dawn Laurel-Jones in 2001.
“I don’t know what the hell I was doing,” Jones joked during a 2013 interview with the U.K.’s The Independent, recalling when he met Laurel-Jones, a photographer. “She took a lot of pictures down there and the Climate Reality group liked them so much, they put on an exhibition, and auction in London. We were there to hang that show and attend the auction.”
He continued, “She took some beautiful pictures there. Of course, the ice is melting, and these pictures dramatized that somewhat. They’re very beautiful pictures. She sold 17 and that brought in a little over $401,000 to support this organization that we actually are a part of.”

Jones met his third wife at one of her photography exhibits. The couple now split time between their Texas ranch and a polo facility in Argentina.
“We’ve built a world-class polo field and a practice field there, so my team and the kids’ teams can play,” the actor told The New Yorker in 2006. “My daughter has been playing polo since she was 6, and now she’s entirely fearless. Dawn is [also] one of the best women polo players in the country, and she didn’t even know how to ride a horse 10 years ago.”
Austin Jones
Jones and his second wife, Cloughley, became parents in November 1982 when they welcomed son Austin. He has since followed in his famous father’s footsteps in Hollywood.
“We had two sources of music; one is history, songs from the past. We had a music supervisor who went through the archives of 19th century music that would have been expected in that part of the world,” Jones told Movies.ie while promoting his starring role in 2014’s The Homesman. “That music supervisor, I am happy to say, is my son, Austin Leonard Jones, who is the banjo player on the barge at the end of the movie. He found some important and rare songs for us.”

Jones and Cloughley welcomed their second child, daughter Victoria, in September 1991. She acted alongside her dad in 2002’s Men in Black II and 2005’s The Three Burials of Melquiades Estrada.
“She’s a good actress, has her SAG card, speaks impeccable Spanish,” Jones gushed to the New Yorker in 2006 of casting Victoria in The Three Burials. “When she was a baby, I told her nurse to speak to her in Spanish, but I fired my daughter [from the movie].”
Victoria, who was 14 during the The Three Burials production, apparently struggled to make the early call times.
“She had to get up at 5 a.m. for her part. One morning, she wouldn’t get out of bed,” her dad recalled. “I said, ‘Honey, this is work.’ But she wouldn’t budge, so I fired her. Then, without telling me, the production staff went over and woke her and rushed her out to the set just in time.”
Victoria was found dead on January 1, 2026, at the age of 34 after an apparent medical emergency at the Fairmont San Francisco hotel.
