The Voice coach Snoop Dogg is confident he has discovered a true superstar with finalist Ralph Edwards.
“My advice to Ralph was just seize the moment, do what you do best,” Snoop, 54, exclusively shared with Us Weekly while attending The Voice season 28 live show red carpet on Monday, December 15. “And I think when those lights come on and the music is playing, he just knows how to be a constant professional and just a superstar. I saw a superstar in him from the moment he started singing.”
Back in September, Snoop and fellow coaches Niall Horan, Michael Bublé and Reba McEntire met Ralph for the first time when he performed “Lights” by Journey during the blind auditions.
After all four coaches turned their chairs, Ralph, 30, ultimately decided to join Team Snoop.
“Even Michael Bublé saw the superstar in him,” Snoop shared with Us. “And that’s crazy, because you don’t usually have other coaches praising people from your team, but Mike feels like he’s the whole thing.”
During Monday’s live show, the Fresno, California, native performed two songs for part one of the season 28 finale.

He delivered a rendition of Bruno Mars’ “Locked Out of Heaven” and chose “I Want to Know What Love Is” by Foreigner for his classic song.
“Complete package right there,” Snoop said during Monday’s show when praising his contestant. “We’ve seen your vocalization in different genres, but to see you dance, to see you perform and to see you come into your full completion of who you’re supposed to be [is special].”
While this isn’t Snoop’s first season as a coach on The Voice, season 28 feels extra special to him for a variety of reasons.
“I think this finale feels extra meaningful for me because it’s the holiday season,” he shared with Us. “And then I think about Ralph, as far as he had 11 opportunities to be on The Voice and he didn’t make it. And on the 12th opportunity, it’s like the 12th day of Christmas. Ralph was able to persevere and push through. I feel like this is a moment for him more than anything.”

Win or lose, Ralph has continued to express how grateful he is to have been coached by Snoop.
“It’s a dream come true to be this far in the live show,” Ralph shared after gaining a spot in the finals. “I’m getting yeses and I don’t know what to do with them anymore.”
Now, the waiting begins after viewers casted their votes for who should be the winner of season 28.
During the Tuesday, December 16, finale, host Carson Daly will announce the winner of The Voice. Viewers will also be treated to performances by XG, Zac Brown, Riley Green, Noah Cyrus and past winners.
“I love my fellow coaches. I love everybody on The Voice,” Reba, 70, shared with Us before finale night. “Everybody behind the scenes, from producers, everybody. They’re all so sweet and so nice, and they love to have a good time. I’ve never heard a foul word. I’ve never heard anybody get disgruntled, throw a fit. Nothing. It’s just wonderful.”
The Voice finale airs on NBC Tuesday at 9 p.m. ET. Stream old episodes anytime on Peacock.
