Prince Harry and Meghan Markle made the season bright with their 2024 holiday card, featuring children Archie and Lilibet.
The couple shared a glimpse at their home life as the parents of two via their annual card, which was released on Monday, December 16. “We wish you a very happy holiday season and a joyful new year,” the card read.
Harry, 40, and Meghan, 43, included several photos of their travels over the past year to celebrate the holiday season. However, it is the rare glimpse at Archie, 5, and Lilibet, 3, that has fans talking.
In one photo, the children can be seen running to give their mom and dad a hug while their dogs run around their backyard. While the kids’ faces aren’t shown, they both have red locks like Harry. In the snap, Harry and Meghan are all smiles.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex have carried on the royal tradition of sending holiday wishes via a personal card each year since they tied the knot in May 2018.
That December, the pair shared a new photo from their private wedding reception at Frogmore House. In the black-and-white image, they wrapped their arms around each other as they watched fireworks overhead.
The following year, the couple’s son, Archie, made his holiday card debut just seven months after his birth, crawling toward the camera as his delighted parents sat in front of a Christmas tree and gazed lovingly at him.
In 2020, the family of three took a different approach after Harry and Meghan exited their royal roles and moved to the United States. Their card featured an illustration of a photo taken by Meghan’s mother, Doria Ragland, in which the trio spent time outside of Archie’s festively decorated playhouse with their dogs Pula and Guy.
“The small Christmas tree, including the homemade ornaments and other decorations, were selected by Archie, and the tree will be replanted after the holidays,” a spokesperson for the duo said at the time.
Harry and Meghan used their 2021 card to introduce their daughter, Lilibet, to the world in her first-ever public photo following her arrival that June.
“This year, 2021, we welcomed our daughter, Lilibet, to the world,” they wrote alongside an image of the family posing in casual outfits as they beamed at their newest addition. “Archie made us a ‘Mama’ and a ‘Papa,’ and Lili made us a family.”
In 2022, the Sussexes shifted away from sharing personal photos on their holiday card, instead including a snapshot from an official appearance at the Robert F. Kennedy Ripple of Hope Award Gala in New York City earlier that month.
“From our family to yours, and on behalf of our teams at The Archewell Foundation, Archewell Audio and Archewell Productions, we wish you health, peace and a very happy new year!” the message read.
Last year, the couple released a virtual holiday card featuring a photo of themselves cheering at the closing ceremony of the 2023 Invictus Games in Germany that September.
“We wish you a very happy holiday season,” they wrote. “Thanks for all the support in 2023!”
While Harry and Meghan have kept a relatively low profile this year, she previously teased in a November interview with Marie Claire that their family was looking forward to the festive season.
“I love the holidays,” Meghan said, noting that “every year it gets better” because of her kids’ ages.
“At first, I think as a mom with children you’re just enjoying having them there, but they’re not understanding everything that’s happening yet,” she elaborated. “But now we’re at the age where I just can’t wait to see it through their lens every year.”
