Perez Hilton is back in the hospital after doctors discovered a “massive” blood clot in his body.
“Last night, I started having real soreness and pain in one of my legs. This morning, it got way worse. I couldn’t even walk. I had to use a walker,” Hilton, 48, said in a video posted via Instagram on Thursday, April 2. “I’ve already seen some of the nurses who took care of me for 21 days when I was here fighting and beating sepsis thanks to these amazing doctors, nurses and God. Now I’m back, and I have to have emergency surgery.“
According to Hilton, an ultrasound confirmed he had a blood clot or a deep vein thrombosis.
“If that blood clot had gone to my lungs or my heart, it could have been real bad,” Hilton said. “I’m happy because we caught it early and the amazing medical team at Southern Hills is going to make this a piece of cake, and God’s got me. And if you want to send prayers, that would be appreciated.”
Soon after sharing his health update, Hilton received support from many fans and followers, including Candace Cameron Bure, Melissa Rivers, Kim Zolciak and Meghan McCain.

“Perez, this part of your journey is deeply touching my heart. Something very, very special is happening to you,” singer Robbie Williams wrote via X. “I can see you’re strong in spirit. We just need your body to follow suit. So you can go out and spread some love. I’ll be watching. Stay strong.”
The message left Hilton touched hours before doctors began their work.
“I sit and wait for my thrombectomy surgery at 8 AM. And THIS angel contemplates my fate!” Hilton wrote via Instagram on Friday, April 3. “I love you so much, @robbiewilliams! And your words ring true and really resonate. I am feeling very zen. Supported. Confident in my amazing medical team. And sure that God has got me! God is great! The future is bright. And I have so much clarity!”
Hilton has been open about his health struggles and spiritual journey after he spent 21 days in the hospital earlier this year.
“It was the worst and best thing that’s ever happened to me,” he said in a March 23 YouTube video when recalling his sepsis diagnosis. “It was such a slow process. I mean, two weeks of just sickness and then another week of getting better before I was released. The last week was hell, because I had already been in the hospital two weeks by then. I was like, ‘I just want to go home. I just want to be with my babies.’”
In his video, Hilton also vowed to change his daily habits, including getting more sleep at night and having dinner with his kids and mom.
