LOS ANGELES — Pedro Pascal is back in the Beskar helmet as Lucasfilm drops the official trailer for “The Mandalorian and Grogu,” teasing gangsters, warlords and a galaxy on the brink.
Sigourney Weaver joins the adventure as Colonel Ward, recruiting Din Djarin for a high-stakes mission. Her pitch: eliminate key targets across the galaxy.
She slides him a playing card marked with a shadowy silhouette, part of a deck modeled after the in-universe card game Sabacc.
“It’s not about getting revenge. It’s about preventing another war,” she tells him.
A surprise voice cameo comes from Martin Scorsese, who plays an Ardennian, the species last seen in “Solo: A Star Wars Story.”
Fan favorite Garazeb “Zeb” Orrelios also steps into the spotlight. The character, voiced by Steve Blum, first rose to prominence in “Star Wars: Rebels” and later appeared in “The Mandalorian” Season 3. During this period, he currently serves as a pilot for the New Republic Defense Fleet.
Actor Hemky Madera returns as an Imperial Warlord, reprising his role from the Shadow Council scene in Season 3 of “The Mandalorian,” along with a menacing bounty hunter who fans of “The Clone Wars” series might recognize.
Embo, who appeared in several episodes of “The Clone Wars,” previously worked as a bodyguard for the Hutts. With the crime family playing a prominent role in the new trailer, it appears he may be back on their payroll.
And Pascal’s Din Djarin finds himself face-to-face with not one, but two Hutt crime bosses.
Jeremy Allen White also stars as Rotta the Hutt.
With characters spanning nearly every corner of the “Star Wars” universe popping up, the door is wide open for even more surprise returns and unexpected destinations across the galaxy.
“The Mandalorian and Grogu” arrives exclusively in theaters and IMAX May 22.
