Oscar nominees mix and mingle at the annual Oscars Nominees Luncheon

BEVERLY HILLS — It’s the big event before the main event: the 98th Oscars Nominees Luncheon.

Some of the notable names in attendance include Kate Hudson, Leonardo DiCaprio, Timothée Chalamet, Michael B. Jordan, Rose Byrne, Jacob Elordi, Wagner Moura, Jessie Buckley, Emma Stone, Teyana Taylor, Elle Fanning, Chloé Zhao, Ryan Coogler, Paul Thomas Anderson, EJAE, Diane Warren and Steven Spielberg.

This year, there are 230 nominees from 29 different countries and regions, and international nominees represented in all 24 categories, proving cinema is truly a worldwide experience.

There are 76 women nominated, more than any other year in Oscars history.

There are 11,000 members of the Academy of Motion Pictures Arts and Sciences, with ballots cast in 88 regions of the world.

Lou Diamond Phillips, who announced the nominees as they took the stage for the annual “class photo,” acknowledged that while the event is called the Nominees Luncheon, it’s really the “Winners Luncheon.”

Academy CEO Bill Kramer echoed that sentiment saying, “All of our nominees are here to celebrate each other to take their class photo. Everyone gets up on this beautifully designed riser and it’s a moment to celebrate our community. Everyone’s a winner today.”
