Nick Bosa breaks yearslong X hiatus to seemingly celebrate Ryan Clark’s ESPN firing

NEWYou can now listen to Fox News articles!

After four years off X, Nick Bosa is making up for lost time.

The San Francisco 49ers star edge rusher had not posted on the social media platform since Nov. 12, 2022, aside from just three reposts. That was until Thursday.

The three reposts Bosa had shared included Joe Rogan’s 2024 podcast episode with Elon Musk, Michael Bublé promoting a charity, and George Kittle’s post from the World Cup final asking for grass instead of turf for NFL stadiums. Ironically, that was the topic of Bosa’s last post he wrote himself.

But news that circulated this week was enough for Bosa to get his thumbs going, albeit for an extremely short period of time.

Bosa quoted a post from The Athletic about Ryan Clark being laid off from ESPN, and he made his thoughts relatively clear with just one emoji.

Clark criticized Bosa in the past for wearing a MAGA hat after a game shortly before the 2024 election, which President Donald Trump eventually won.

“It seems very clear to me Nick Bosa understands that when you wear that hat, you take a side,” Clark said at the time. “You take a side of division in a sport that’s supposed to bring us together. I’m just waiting for all the people who comment under political and sports things to shut up and dribble or to shut up and play football, to tell him to shut up and rush. But they ain’t going to say it, because they feel the exact same way he do.”

Clark recently said that supporting Trump is “more polarizing” than supporting other politicians.

“Let’s be honest. Who you supported in 2008, 2012 is nowhere near as polarizing as who you support today,” Clark said on his podcast. “[Trump] has clearly picked a side, [and] standing next to him gives the impression that you have to. Which means you stand in direct opposition to the majority of your teammates.”

Bosa was fined $11,255 for wearing the hat, but he appeareaed no regrets.

“It was well worth it,” Bosa said after the election, before being fined. “I don’t think my position on speaking about it is going to change, so clearly the nation spoke,” Bosa added. “We got what we got.”

Clark was among several layoffs at the company, including Bart Scott, Tom Pelissero, Karl Ravech, and Cam Newton.
