New video shows moments before brutal Beverly Hills murder where man was beaten and run over by car

BEVERLY HILLS, Calif. () — New video shows the moments before a brutal murder in Beverly Hills where a man was attacked and then run over by a car.

Witnesses to the incident on Friday afternoon captured the moment the attacker grabbed a weapon before he struck the victim. The man is then seen walking away.

Another video posted to social media then shows a car driving the wrong way down Wilshire Boulevard, driving over the victim and taking off.

A man died after being beaten and run over by a car in a violent attack in Beverly Hills, police say.

According to the Beverly Hills Police Department, the victim and the suspect got into some sort of verbal altercation before the attack. It’s unclear if the two knew each other.

An anonymous witness said he heard a “loud argument” and looked out from his office window to see two men fighting in the street. He said the attacker was hitting the victim with what looked like a stick or pipe.

“It looked like he was maybe even trying to kill him,” the witness said.

Another witness told Eyewitness News she was sitting in her parked car when the vehicle ran over the victim.

“I personally did not want to witness this person being dragged under the car, so I put my head down, but I was in the car and had felt this person’s head likely hit the back of my tire, and then the car sped off,” she said.

The victim, who was not identified, was sent to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, where he later died.

Police arrested 54-year-old Christopher Cornelius of San Bernardino. He was booked on suspicion of murder and is being held on a $2 million bail.

Police said he has an “extensive criminal record,” including violent crimes.
