LOS ANGELES () — Flights between Los Angeles International Airport and major Middle Eastern hubs were canceled Sunday as disruptions spread worldwide following an attack on Iran.
At Tom Bradley International Terminal, at least three arriving flights from Dubai, Doha and Tel Aviv were canceled, along with a few departing flights from LAX bound for those cities. The widespread interruptions left some passengers stranded and searching for answers.
A mother and daughter scheduled to fly to Doha said they learned late Saturday night that their flight would not depart.
“We receive the message [Saturday] at midnight that our flight was canceled,” said the mother. “I’m devastated, actually, about the situation.”
When asked whether she was worried about her family overseas, she replied, “Yes, I am because, we never know what’s going to happen.”
Countries across the Middle East have closed airspace and key airports in the last 24 hours, prompting significant security concerns and further delays. More than 3,400 flights were canceled Sunday across seven airports in the region, according to airport officials.
One airline analyst said travelers should expect continued disruptions in the days ahead as the conflict evolves.
