Indiana Man Killed His Wife and Sent Photos of Her Dead Body to Boyfriend With the Caption ‘Your Fault’

An Indiana man is facing a possible life sentence for killing his wife and then sending photos of her lifeless body to her relatives and a man he suspected she was having an affair with.

Us Weekly confirms jurors convicted Taylor James Meyer, 35, on one count of murder for the Valentine’s Day 2025 murder of his wife, Deborah Meyer, who was 36.

Jury deliberations on Thursday, January 30, lasted less than two hours, according to the News and Tribune of Indiana.

The trial lasted little over a week.

Prosecutors told jurors Taylor had planned a Valentine’s Day surprise for Deborah: he bought her a new dress, ordered dinner in, and decorated their entire home in Jeffersonville. He even told her he’d booked a trip to Paris. But it was argued in court Deborah’s reaction was nothing if not lackluster. When she went outside to her car to text someone, Taylor flew into a rage, beating his wife and hitting her in the head with a glass wine bottle before stabbing her 40 times in the chest.

The News and Tribune reported Taylor was expressionless as the verdict was read.

An Idaho man who police said killed his estranged wife allegedly sent her mother a text afterwards, apologizing for his actions and explaining to her, “Satan got ahold of me,” according to reports. Christopher Moon, 43, shot his 23-year-old wife, Cassandra Clinger, to death on the morning of Wednesday, January 21. Moon then died by […]

Emergency responders were actually dispatched to the Meyers’ home after a man called 911, saying he’d gotten a call from Deborah’s phone and heard her start yelling for help.

When they knocked at the door, there was no answer, so they left. The man who called 911 then drove over to the home, and on his way, received the photo message from Deborah’s phone, showing her dead body.

Officers broke down the door, and found Taylor, who was not willing to go quietly. Police had to use “control techniques” to make the arrest.

Three young children under the age of 5 were in the home at the time of the murder.

Taylor later told investigators his marriage had become strained after he saw a photo of her holding hands with another man in January 2025. He told cops the man was her “co-worker.”

“It was the hardest I’ve ever tried,” he allegedly said during the interview. “She just didn’t give a s***.”

Taylor told police that he’d been staying home Saturday nights with the kids in the months leading up to the murder “while she goes and f**** whoever and lies to my face about it.”

Taylor said his wife left for 20 minutes after going outside to text someone in her car. When she returned, Taylor demanded to see her phone. She refused and the two fought physically.

“He stated that during the argument, she punched him in the face, and he grabbed her and took the cellular phone and told her, ‘I’m stronger than you,’” the affidavit states. “[Taylor] told me during this initial interview at the hospital that it was ‘all wrestling and hitting, and I started choking her. She hit me with a water bottle, and I hit her with a wine bottle and then I went and got the knife’”

Malang Akbari has been charged with first-degree murder for killing his wife, Manhaz Akbari, according to […]

According to Taylor, his wife kept asking him “What are you going to do, kill me? You’re going to hurt me and leave our kids with no parents?”

Taylor said he then pinned his wife to the floor and used her phone to call her “boyfriend.” After the man answered, Taylor said, “It’s your f***ing fault. You want to ruin my marriage and tear my family apart.”

Taylor continued choking his wife until she went unconscious. He told cops he did not know if she was dead, so he retrieved a “big a** kitchen knife, a long one,” and used it to repeatedly stab her in the chest.

The photo of his wife’s body he sent to her “boyfriend” was captioned “Your fault.”

Taylor will remain in the Clark County Jail until he is sentenced on February 20.
