Hit-and-run victim in his 60s dies after being struck by 3 vehicles in Studio City; drivers sought

STUDIO CITY, LOS ANGELES (CNS) — Police sought the public’s help Friday in locating three motorists connected to a multi-vehicle hit-and-run that killed a man in his 60s.

According to the Los Angeles Police Department, a white cargo was traveling eastbound on Ventura Boulevard at 5:40 p.m. Dec. 23, when the vehicle ran over the foot of a man who was sitting on the road at Ventura Boulevard and Van Noord Avenue.

Police said the cargo van was last seen heading eastbound on Ventura Boulevard.

The victim was lying down on the road, where he was then struck by two additional vehicles described as a white SUV and a sedan, both also last seen traveling eastbound on Ventura Boulevard, police said.

Los Angeles Fire Department paramedics responded to the location, where they pronounced the victim dead at the scene.

The man’s name was not immediately released.

“Motorists are reminded that if they are involved in a collision, they should pull over and stop as soon as it is safe, notify emergency services, and remain at the scene to identify themselves,” police said in a statement.

A reward of up to $25,000 is being offered for information leading to the identification, arrest, and conviction of the suspect.

Anyone with additional information was urged to contact LAPD Valley Traffic Division Detective Martinez at (818) 644-8033 or Officer Hansen at (818) 644-8255. Calls during non-business hours or weekends should be directed to (877) 527-3247. Tipsters who prefer to remain anonymous can call Crime Stoppers or visit lacrimestoppers.org.
