LOS ANGELES — Former Disney Channel star Christy Carlson Romano is feeling emotional, after receiving a positive cancer screening.
“I kind of was in disbelief about it because I was filming, and so happy to be back on set,” she said in a video on social media Tuesday.
The 41-year-old said she got the screening because her family has a history of the disease.
Romano says she’s now fighting with her insurance to get a PET, or positron emission tomography, scan done.
She also says she was scared, but is trying to focus on other things, like the movie she filmed and her upcoming memoir.
She also spoke about late actor James Van Der Beek, who died from colorectal cancer last week, calling him “a pillar of our community in Texas.”
Carlson Romano has recovered after being shot in the face last year.
