European leaders are increasingly concerned about the risk of a looming trade war and the future of Greenland. Ahead of his arrival in Davos, President Trump briefed the press, insisting he has done more for NATO than any other leader. Many hope he may reconsider his stance on Greenland and tariffs. For more on this, we cross over to the World Economic Forum to connect with our EU editor Maria Tadeo.
The diplomatic crisis between the EU and the US is also being felt inside the European Parliament in Strasbourg, where MEPs are gathered this week. A vote on a resolution on EU-US relations has been postponed in order to reflect the latest developments. For more on this, our Euronews correspondent Vincenzo Genovese is on the ground. And with him is Valérie Hayer, Renew Europe’s President, who joins us for an interview.
Then we go back to Davos with our EU Editor Maria Tadeo. With her, and also joining for a live interview, is Nadia Calviño, head of the European Investment Bank.
Lastly, we report on one issue getting far less attention at this year’s World Economic Forum: the ongoing suffering in Gaza. President Donald Trump is still hoping to advance what he calls a 20-point peace plan, with support from international partners – including the Europeans. Our correspondent Jakub Janas explains what’s next for this plan.
