US President Donald Trump will no longer proceed with a plan to impose tariffs on eight European countries. The decision comes after a rollercoaster day in Davos and talks with NATO secretary general Mark Rutte.

Europeans are relieved for now but also aware that underlying issues remain. Euronews EU editor Maria Tadeo was in the packed room listening to President Donald Trump at the World Economic Forum and joins us from the Swiss town.

With her is Marta Kos, the EU Commission for enlargement, who joins for an exclusive interview as President Zelenskyy plans to travel to Davos today to meet with the US president. Also joining Europe Today is former European Commission President Jean-Claude Juncker. He reacts to Donald Trump’s speech in Davos and offers insights into how Europe should deal with the US President.

EU leaders are hoping to precisely figure that out over emergency talks today in Brussels. Our NATO expert Shona Murray reports from our studio on what to expect at tonight’s EU Summit.

Lastly, we go back to Davos. Jakub Janas takes a look at whether this year’s World Economic Forum was a one man show. Was it? What we know is that Donald Trump hogged all the headlines.

When and where to watch Europe Today?

You can join Euronews’ chief anchor Méabh Mc Mahon and our EU editor Maria Tadeo live on TV and Euronews’ website and digital platforms every weekday.

Our new format brings you the day’s key events plus crucial analysis of all the stories shaping the EU and beyond. It’s also available as a newsletter and podcast.
