Bringing Up Bates alum Katie Bates and husband Travis Clark have shared glimpses of their relationship with fans through the years.
The pair, who tied the knot in 2021, became parents when they welcomed daughter Hailey in 2023. The next year, Bates and Clark added son Harvey to their family.
In 2026, Katie — one of Gil and Kelly Jo Bates’ 19 children — shared that she suffered a pregnancy loss. “I will spend the rest of my life missing you,” she wrote via Instagram.
Hours later, Clark admitted that he had cheated on his wife. “This is hard to write, but I owe the truth and I owe an apology. I was unfaithful to my wife,” he wrote via his Instagram Story. “I had an affair and repeatedly broke her trust. There is no excuse for what I did. This was my failure and my responsibility alone. I know that words don’t begin to express the damage I caused or the depth of the hurt I’ve brought into her life, but I am truly sorry.”

2019
Katie Bates and Travis Clark met through mutual friends.
2020
Katie Bates began courting Travis Clark in 2020. “Travis and his family are active in their local church and also travel together to sing, so our families have been able to visit at nearby concerts and church events,” Bates exclusively told Us Weekly in March 2020. “Travis and I are so thankful that the Lord, not only allowed our paths to cross, but that we have been able to begin this new phase of our journey together.”
2021
Travis Clark proposed to Katie Bates in April 2021, and the couple tied the knot in December of that year.
“This day has been worth all of the waiting, all of the dreaming and even worth all of the work of wedding planning, with its occasional stresses and anxieties,” Bates and Clark exclusively told Us of their wedding day. “It’s been worth every moment, and we really can’t believe we are actually married!”
They continued at the time, “We know we still have a lot to learn about marriage and relationships, but we are excited to spend our lives learning and growing together. It’s an exciting day when you get to marry your very best friend in life and an even more special day when you can share it with family and friends.”
2023
Katie Bates and Travis Clark welcomed daughter Hailey. “Meet Hailey James Clark 🥹💗,” the pair wrote in a joint Instagram post at the time, sharing photos of the newborn. “February 17, 2023. 10:29 pm. 6 lbs. 1 oz. 19 inches.”
2024
The pair added son Harvey to their family. “Harvey arrived last night, and we are already head over heels in love,” Katie Bates and Travis Clark captioned a joint Instagram post in September 2024. “Right after I gave birth, they had to take him away due to dropping oxygen levels, which was really frightening. I was able to hold Harvey briefly before they took him. He was then placed on oxygen and given six hours to try to breathe on his own. I must say, Harvey is a fighter, and we are so proud of him!”
Several weeks later, Harvey was discharged from the NICU unit. “We want to thank you for praying for little Harvey,” Bates wrote via her Instagram Story in October 2024. “The love and encouraging messages have meant the world to us! Thankfully, he was able to come off the oxygen and is now breathing on his own, which is a huge answer to prayer!”
2026
Katie Bates shared via Instagram that she had suffered a miscarriage. Hours later, Travis Clark admitted that he cheated on his wife and apologized via Instagram “for the pain, humiliation and betrayal I caused my wife through my choices.”
“I understand that an apology doesn’t repair what I broke and forgiveness is not something I deserve or can ask for,” he wrote, sharing that he planned to take responsibility for his actions by “getting help.”
“[I am] doing the work to change and become a more honest and accountable man, regardless of [the] outcome,” Clark concluded. “I ask for privacy and grace for Katie as she processes this in her own time.”
