Actor Kiefer Sutherland arrested for alleged assault of rideshare driver in Hollywood

HOLLYWOOD, LOS ANGELES () — Actor Kiefer Sutherland was arrested early Monday morning after an alleged altercation with a rideshare driver in Hollywood, according to Los Angeles police.

The “Designated Survivor” actor was arrested just after midnight, LAPD tells News.

Officers were initially called to the scene for an assault involving a rideshare driver near the intersection of Sunset Boulevard and Fairfax Avenue. Sutherland allegedly assaulted the driver after entering the vehicle.

He was arrested on suspicion of felony criminal threats and was released after posting a $50,000 bond, jail records show. He’s due in court on Feb. 2.

No injuries requiring medical treatment were reported.

Sutherland is an Emmy Award-winning actor well known for his role in the popular drama series “24.”
