While becoming a World Series champion with the Los Angeles Dodgers was a dream come true, Kiké Hernández’s greatest title is “dad.”
“I’m definitely the fun dad. I can be firm, but I don’t know how necessarily strict I am because I’m not the most strict person in the world,” Kiké, 35, exclusively shared with Us while teaming up with Warner Bros. for a new initiative celebrating the iconic DC Super-Villains. “But I have an amazing support system in my wife [Mariana P. Vicente Hernández].”
He continued, “My wife is amazing. She’s an unbelievable mom, and I couldn’t have picked a better life partner for me. My wife’s got everything covered. That allows me to be myself with my kids and just be the same person and have fun with them.”
After another successful season with the Los Angeles Dodgers — who ultimately lost to the Milwaukee Brewers in the 2026 National League Championship Series in October — Kiké is now savoring quality time with daughter Penélope, 5, and son Santiago, 8 months, during the off-season.
While Kiké joked that his son is so young that he can only “carry him, rock him and feed him,” it’s a different story with his daughter.
“Going on walks with my daughter is probably one of the most fun things that I can think of. We tend to have pretty fun conversations,” he shared with Us. “I always tell my daughter, ‘Holding your hand is my absolute favorite thing in the world,’ and hopefully she might feel the same way.”

During Halloween weekend, Kiké and Mariana joined their daughter in dressing up as characters from Suicide Squad.
“I’ve dressed up as a Joker in the past for Halloween,” Kiké shared. “My wife has dressed up as my Harley Quinn, so obviously, the Joker is the house favorite. Honestly, my favorite movie of all time is The Dark Knight. I think Christian Bale and Heath Ledger made a pretty iconic movie.”
With another season of baseball complete, Kiké said he’s been able to explore some new shows, like HBO’s Lanterns and HBO Max’s Peacemaker.
He’s also been thinking about the future as he finds himself listed as a free agent. While the utility player has expressed interest in staying with the Dodgers, he’s found himself thinking more and more about his family as he waits to see what team he may land with next.
This Halloween, Hollywood’s biggest stars are going all out with their spooktacular costumes. In the days leading up to Saturday, October 31, many celebrities like Paris Hilton got into the spirit early by showing off their costumes. “My life is a fairytale, and the magic never ends 💛👑🌹🕯️✨,” Paris, 45, wrote via Instagram on October […]
“It’s starting to become really hard because my daughter is five and she’s about to start kindergarten. In season, home is Arizona, so for the first semester of kindergarten, we did homeschooling, and now she’s going to enter the school next Monday,” he shared with Us. “Decisions are starting to get really hard because you don’t want to take your kid out of school. I have a second kid now. We have dogs, so the traveling can be a lot.”
As he calls Arizona home, Kiké acknowledged that half of MLB’s teams do spring training in his state while the other half head to Florida.
“It could get hard having to leave your house, leave the family behind to do spring training and be two months by yourself over there, and then have to take your family somewhere else,” he said. “Those are all things that get really hard, and things that people don’t really think about as often as they should from an outside perspective, but life gets very real when it comes to baseball season. Luckily, we’re fortunate enough to have a good support system and to make the transition easier.”
