Even if you’ve always been pretty chill, parenthood has a way of turning you into somewhat of a control freak. Suddenly, you care deeply about sleep windows, screen time, meal planning and what you’re putting on your baby’s body — right down to their diaper. It’s unreasonably hard to find something absorbent and inexpensive that isn’t made with harsh chemicals, but Freestyle changed the game with its Skin♥Shield Diapers.
Instead of forcing parents to choose what they value most, Freestyle provides the best of all worlds: a super-soft, chlorine-free diaper that draws moisture away from delicate skin and actually holds everything in. Still, the key difference isn’t just the seven layers of protection, which, after testing, were proven to be 14x more absorbent than a leading diaper brand. It’s what’s inside the diapers — a.k.a. super absorbent polymers and FSC Certified Total Chlorine Free wood pulp — that makes this pick the top choice.

The brand’s transparency around what the diapers are made of, along with its commitment to using EWG Verified® non-toxic ingredients, is why so many parents feel comfortable putting these diapers on their brand-new babies. Sizing ranges from newborn to little ones up to 44 pounds, and while you can scoop up a box at Walmart or Target, Freestyle’s site offers a subscription service that delivers a month’s supply straight to your doorstep. The brand even did the math, showing how one pack of 204 diapers comes to less than $2.50 per day.
Parents who made the switch have no regrets, with one reviewer revealing they were fed up with a popular brand after their baby had multiple blowouts.
“Ever since using your diapers, I have had no leaks, blowouts, or skin irritation!” they wrote, while also highlighting Freestyle’s Ultra Clean 99% Water Wipes — another changing table essential. “The packaging is perfect,” they said of the wipes. “And the fact it comes 1 at a time is chef’s kiss. I’m so glad I started a subscription with Freestyle!”
Another customer shared similar thoughts, noting that the Skin♥Shield Diapers “hold it all in” and “are truly the softest diapers.”
“Gives this momma peace of mind knowing they are clean and safe for my lil girl’s bum,” they wrote. “I will never use anything different.”
Parenting comes with plenty of challenges, but finding a truly good diaper — one that contains messes, doesn’t irritate sensitive skin and won’t leave you cringing at the cash register — shouldn’t be one of them. Stock up on Freestyle now and rest (a little!) easier knowing you’ve checked one thing off that massive to-do list.
