Anne Hathaway just reminded Us that jeans don’t have to come with stiff waistbands and uncomfortable fits. In fact, the actress recently stepped out in a pair that looked like classic denim but had a little secret: a drawstring waist. Basically, they’re sweatpants in disguise, and we’re suddenly reconsidering our entire denim collection.
The Verity actress was spotted in New York City wearing white drawstring jeans with a matching top, a long green cardigan, gold strappy heels and an orange clutch. The relaxed denim was the real star of the outfit, especially for anyone who prioritizes comfort (pregnant or not!). Naturally, we wanted in on the waistband-friendly trend, and we found a $37 similar style on Amazon.

The Grapent Straight Leg High Rise Jeans have the same cream color and relaxed silhouette as Hathaway’s pair, complete with an adjustable drawstring and stretchy elastic waistband. Made from a mostly cotton blend with a touch of elastane, they’re designed to move with you rather than dig into your waist. Plus, the five-pocket detailing gives them the appearance of traditional denim, so nobody has to know just how comfy they really are.
One shopper said the pants “have the look of actual jeans,” but the comfort is “much closer to wearing your favorite pair of stretchy pants.” In other words, they’re exactly what we’d want to wear for a long brunch, Thanksgiving dinner or even a day at the office. Another buyer called the stretchy waistband her “favorite” feature, adding that she “can wear them all day and stay comfortable.”
Available in sizes S to XXL, the jeans also come in light wash, brown and black for anyone who isn’t ready to commit to white denim. Style them with a tucked-in blouse and loafers for work, or take a page from Hathaway’s book with a long cardigan and heels. Either way, you’ll get the look of everyday jeans with the comfort of your favorite lounge pants.
If stiff waistbands have you reaching for sweatpants instead of jeans, this $37 pair might be your new favorite denim find. Between the stretchy waist, adjustable drawstring and relaxed fit, they’re practically made for days when comfort is nonnegotiable. Grab a pair on Amazon and copy Hathaway’s comfy-chic look for less!

Jennifer Lawrence is giving our jeans a little competition this fall. The actress has been embracing silky slip skirts, and the feminine style is an easy way to make sweaters, blazers and other cozy staples feel a little dressier. Even better, we found an affordable way to copy the anti-denim look this season. Earlier this […]
