Regina King has been playing the long game with her armpits. Ten years into her aluminum-free deodorant quest, the Oscar winner knows the drill: find a natural formula that works, ride it out for six months or a year, then swap when your body inevitably shrugs and stops responding. It’s a whole rotation. And her current favorite? She spotted it on a billboard while walking through Soho.
“Billie has been my latest, and it’s my latest and greatest right now,” King told The Strategist, calling out the darker green bottle and the lighter blue one as her go-to fragrances. For anyone white-knuckling the natural deodorant transition (summers, as King admits, are brutal), hearing an A-lister vouch for a drugstore-priced pick feels like a tip from your most stylish friend.

King’s philosophy makes sense to anyone who’s fought this fight. Your body adapts, and what worked in April might quit on you by October. Rotating formulas keeps things effective, and Billie’s under-$10 price tag makes it easy to keep a backup in the medicine cabinet without guilt.
The Tidal Rose scent is the best place to start. It’s soft, a little floral and layers nicely with perfume. One shopper wrote that “the tidal rose scent pairs well with my Acqua di Gioia perfume,” adding that even on off days, the formula was “definitely enough to keep that at bay.” The AHA formulation exfoliates gently, which is why your underarms end up looking brighter and feeling smoother over time, no chemical-burn drama.
Another reviewer took a leap ordering the scent unsniffed and had zero regrets: “I went with my gut and it really, really works for me (Tidal Rose). So far, [it] has neutralized the odor.”
Twenty-four-hour coverage, no irritation and a price that doesn’t sting make King’s billboard recommendation totally worth a shot!
