DOWNTOWN LOS ANGELES () — An investigation is underway after a shooting in a downtown Los Angeles alley sent at one person to the hospital in critical condition Friday afternoon.
Los Angeles Police responded to the area between South Figueroa and West Francisco Streets at about 2:45 p.m. for a reported shooting, LAPD said.
According to LAPD, there was a gun battle between the victim and the suspects, but it’s unknown if it was gang-related.
The suspects fired at the victim, who then took out a gun and fired back at the suspects, LAPD said. The suspects continued shooting at the victim as they fled in a vehicle.
The victim was taken to the hospital in critical condition.
Video from the scene showed bullet holes in the windshield of a green and black McLaren sports car.
An innocent bystander was in a vehicle nearby when he was struck by gunfire, according to the LAPD. That victim was treated and released on scene.
The Los Angeles Police Department says it’s looking for three men in connection with the shooting. They were seen entering a black four door BMW and took off through the alley toward Figueroa Street.
No further details were immediately known.
