LOS ANGELES () — A resident in the Larchmont neighborhood of Los Angeles lived a terrifying encounter when burglars broke into the apartment while still inside.
Officers responded to the apartment building in the 4800 block of Oakwood Avenue at about 11 p.m. Friday, according to the Los Angeles Police Department.
LAPD says the resident was inside the apartment when two men suddenly broke in. They saw the burglar and ran out. According to police, the burglars did not make physical contact with the resident.
The thieves grabbed several items and ran off, but it wasn’t immediately known what was taken. The suspects are still on the run.
Meanwhile, LAPD says two men dressed in black broke into a house in the 7300 block of Ranchito Avenue in Van Nuys just before 9:30 p.m. Friday.
The homeowners weren’t there at the time and a neighbor with a key actually had to let officers inside.
The suspects stole several items before driving off in a white SUV, police said. No one was hurt. Police are still searching for those suspects.
It’s unknown if both incidents are connected.
The investigation is ongoing in both of these cases.
