Costco’s new arrival is taking the cake.
This week, sweet-seeking shoppers have spotted the chain’s popular pumpkin cheesecake, a squash-ed superstore delicacy with whipped pumpkin topping and a hefty sprinkle of cinnamon, nutmeg and other fall-forward spices.
The reissue of Costco’s beloved dessert comes as pumpkin spice flavoring enters its peak season, with the ubiquitous spice landing on lattes, bagels, ice cream, and even protein powder.
And despite data claiming the viral trend has lost its flavor, Costco shoppers couldn’t be happier online.
Laura Jayne Lamb — who’s known to her 3.5 million Instagram followers as Costco Hot Finds — posted a reel where her location had a stack of cakes piled high.
“It’s easily one of my favorite Costco Bakery cheesecakes of the entire year,” she said in the video.
Many members also go wild over Costco’s 3-pound, 10-ounce pumpkin pie, made fresh daily and priced at the very modest $5.99. However, those vying for a bit more flair can scoop up the pie’s more refined cousin.
The four-pound pumpkin cheesecakes are made with a bottom layer of sweet graham crust and crumbled up bits of toasted graham on top. The middle has a heavy layer of pumpkin filling. Its top layer is a high-stacked pumpkin whip.
Prices may vary depending on the state, but the desserts are typically about $25.
Excited Costco fans raced to the comments section, sounding off on the return of pumpkin. One user wrote, “Costco bakery NEVER misses!!”
Another promised to buy an entire lot, with a detailed plan, “That’s it, [I’m] going to buy all of them, and put [them] into individual servings and freeze them!”
Shoppers looking for a pumpkin overload can also try the Pumpkin Bar Cake for $16.99 at most Costco locations. The moist dessert is two-and-a-half pounds of layered pumpkin spice sponge cake and a creamy pumpkin mousse filling.
The savvy Costco shopper, Lamb, said customers can “easily get 20 slices out of this.”
But some members — including Costco fans at The Post — haven’t spotted the returning pumpkin treats in our stores just yet.
Fear not, says the wholesale warehouse chain.
Costco will slowly roll out pumpkin cheesecakes into every store and region before Thanksgiving, so shoppers across the country can have their cake and literally eat it, too.
Unless, that is, you’re over the gourd entirely.
In that case, try the warehouse retailer’s late summer addition: Costco’s new Cherry Almond Coffee Cake.
The $11.99 treat, is a light, fluffy almond cake with a tart cherry filling and a crisp almond streusel topping.
Costco is also selling another popular fall staple — the Apple Berry Pie. The seasonal fruit pie combines apples, strawberries and raspberries all baked inside a mouthwatering, flaky crust.
And if you’d rather wear pumpkin than eat it… well… there’s a deodorant for that, too.
