It seems that MomTok might not be able to survive The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives after all.
“It feels like there are no friendships left in MomTok,” Jessi Draper reveals in the season 5 teaser trailer, released Wednesday, August 26, before Taylor Frankie Paul adds in a voiceover, “The damage is done.”
Jessi, 34, and Taylor, 32, star on Mormon Wives alongside Jen Affleck, Whitney Leavitt, Mayci Neeley, Mikayla Matthews, Layla Taylor and Miranda Hope, who will all return for the reality TV show’s fifth season next month.
The Mormon Wives cast briefly paused production in March after Taylor and now-ex Dakota Mortensen were involved in a domestic violence investigation. (Utah police ultimately declined to press charges, while both Taylor and Dakota, 33, vehemently denied allegations regarding their behavior.)
“There’s so much stuff the public doesn’t know,” Mayci, 31, reveals in a confessional. “This whole thing has spiraled.”
Jessi, meanwhile, likens Taylor and Dakota, who share 2-year-old son Ever, to “Romeo and Juliet in the TikTok age.” (The pair have broken up and gotten back together multiple times over the course of their tumultuous relationship.)
Elsewhere in the trailer, Taylor confronts Dakota for allegedly getting her initials tattooed inside his lip.
“It’s giving obsessed,” she says during a FaceTime call, with Dakota sarcastically responding that he was obsessed with his former partner.
In addition to watching Taylor and Dakota’s messy breakup and subsequent custody battle unfold, the rest of the MomTok influencers appear to be going their separate ways professionally through individual stints on Dancing With the Stars, Broadway or dropping debut music singles.
“[Were] we all just pulled in different directions?” Taylor asks Jen, 26, in another scene. “[Where] will we stand when we come back together?”
The group further teases mountains of drama, with Mikayla, 25, even reaching her “boiling point” and Layla, 25, claiming that one feud was “unforgivable.”
“We’re grown women, this is how we’re acting?” Mayci quips.
The season, which features five episodes, picks up after Taylor left Utah to film ABC’s The Bachelorette. (Her season was pulled from broadcast in March days before its planned premiere after footage from her 2023 domestic violence arrest resurfaced.)
“After two wild years, #MomTok is hotter than hell, but will friendships and dreams go up in flames? The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives premieres on Hulu Thursday, September 10.
