RICHMOND, Texas — A family’s barn caught fire in the middle of the night, but an unexpected hero made sure they found out in time.
On August 6, just after 1 a.m., Goosey, the family’s pet goose started honking in a way they had never heard before.
The dad, Bert Gerber, had fallen asleep watching TV when the unusual noise woke him. He went to check and discovered the barn on fire.
He quickly grabbed a hose and started fighting the fire. Thanks to Goosey’s warning, the family was able to stop the fire in time and save the animals inside.
