Julia Roberts is looking back at niece Emma Roberts’ wedding to husband Cody John.
“Love you two ♥️♥️,” the Pretty Woman actress, 58, commented on Emma’s Thursday, August 6, Instagram post, which featured several photos from her and John’s July 25 nuptials.
Emma, 35, and John, 36, tied the knot in an intimate outdoor ceremony at a private family estate in Sun Valley, Idaho. The couple was surrounded by their closest friends and family members, including Julia and her husband, Danny Moder.
Emma is actress Kelly Cunningham’s daughter with ex Eric Roberts, Julia’s brother. Eric, 70, was spotted in Los Angeles at the time his daughter exchanged her vows.
“I love my daughter, always have, always will,” the Dark Knight actor told Page Six in a statement on July 27. “It is perfectly wonderful for her to celebrate however she wants, with whomever she wants.”
It’s unknown whether Julia’s other sister, Lisa Roberts Gillian, attended the wedding.
Emma and Julia have famously forged a loving aunt-niece bond throughout their time in Hollywood. During the American Horror Story star’s early days of acting, she appeared alongside Julia in 2001’s America’s Sweethearts, 2002’s Grand Champion and 2010’s Valentine’s Day.
Despite their shared filmography, Emma told Us in 2011 that she was “doing [her] own thing.”
“I don’t really compare it to what my aunt does, but I do admire her and love all her movies,” she shared at the time.
Emma has also gotten candid about the downsides of fame after seeing the attention that Julia has received throughout her career.

“I saw very up close what that really looks like with my aunt Julia,” Emma told Bruce Bozzi in 2024. “It’s fun and it’s great, but there is a part of it that’s really scary.”
“Fame has never been the goal, because fame at a certain level is kind of scary,” she added.
Julia and Emma’s close relationship hasn’t gone unnoticed by the Scream Queens alum’s dad, either.
“They look so much alike that I love the pictures of them when they’re side-by-side,” he gushed to Us in 2020. “They’re both such Robertses. You know? It’s really cool to look at them. I love seeing them together.”
Eric’s wife, Eliza Roberts, added that Julia has always been “incredibly supportive” of her entire extended family, noting that the Oscar winner was “instrumental” in getting her son, Keaton, on The Ellen DeGeneres Show in 2013. Julia also regularly orders food from Eliza’s daughter Morgan’s catering business.
“That’s a really big deal. That’s really, really special,” Eliza told Us. “Because there’s people who don’t do that. They don’t act on the things that they’re passionate about, but she does. I love her for that so much.”
