1 skydiver killed, another critically injured after incident near Perris in Riverside County

PERRIS, Calif. () — A skydiver was killed and another was critically injured Thursday afternoon in the Inland Empire near Perris, authorities said.

Riverside County firefighters and sheriff’s deputies responded to a rural area off Ellis Avenue, near Skydive Perris.

Officials said one skydiver died at the scene. Another survived but was taken to a hospital with critical injuries.

Video from the scene showed investigators speaking with someone associated with Skydive Perris. Authorities have not released additional details about the circumstances surrounding the incident.
