Lay’s is celebrating the FIFA World Cup 2026, returning to North America for the first time in decades with an array of limited-edition potato chip flavors.
The brand is releasing a whopping 40 flavors inspired by the global cuisines of all the nations competing in the international soccer tournament — but only three will be available in the U.S.
In the US, Lay’s fans will get to enjoy Lay’s Argentinian‑Style Steak with Chimichurri, Lay’s Brazilian‑Style Garlic Sauce, and Lay’s Wavy French Onion Soup.
Lay’s Argentinian‑Style Steak with Chimichurri is inspired by Argentine cuisine with a rich steak taste blended with cilantro, lemon, basil, bay, thyme, oregano, parsley and garlic. They initially debuted ahead of the 2025 games and will be returning to stores for this year’s games.
Blended with buttery garlic and creamy dairy, Lay’s Brazilian‑Style Garlic Sauce features a lemon tangy kick for a savory finish “inspired by Brazil’s love for bold, layered tastes.”
The third flavor available in the US, Lay’s Wavy French Onion Soup, features a rich, aged cheddar cheese and fine herbs, providing a savory taste with a crispy crunch.
These three limited-edition flavors will be available at retailers nationwide, on the TikTok shop and Snacks.com starting early May.
Fans online seem to be looking forward to the new releases.
“They all look so good but the steak with chimcurri looks the best,” one wrote.
“i need that french onion soup flavor NEOOOOOOOWWW!!!!” another exclaimed.
“French onion soup chips are gonna literally change the game,” someone said.
Outside of the U.S., consumers in select regions will be able to experience a different variety of limited-edition potato chips inspired by regional dishes from North America, South America, Europe, Africa and Asia.

Available in the United Kingdom and Spain, Lay’s English Bangers and Mash is a nod to British culinary tradition with the savory flavors of the classic comfort food.
Lay’s Mexican Tacos is available in Mexico, Brazil, Chile, Costa Rica, the Dominican Republic, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, Jamaica, Panama, Peru and Puerto Rico. These are inspired by Mexico’s vibrant street‑food culture, blending smoky chiles and aromatic spices.

The other flavors will be available in select international markets starting in April. The lineup is designed to let fans “experience the FIFA World Cup 26 through food.”
Lay’s is also giving fans a chance to win free World Cup tickets as the Lay’s Fan of the Match. Sweepstakes winners will get two premium tickets, pitch‑side access at the end of the match and a custom Lay’s Fan of the Match trophy. They’ll also be featured on the stadium jumbotron during halftime.
