DOWNTOWN LOS ANGELES () — Police arrested five people for failing to disperse near the Federal Building after a non-permitted protest attracted a crowd of 200 to 300 people in downtown Los Angeles on Saturday.
The Los Angeles Police Department declared an unlawful assembly after a large group of anti-ICE protesters began blocking streets and a freeway on-ramp on Saturday afternoon, impacting traffic.
Instead of the usual rocks and bottles — police say the demonstrators threw sex toys at them.
The group Frontlines TPUSA said the theme was a f— ICE” demonstration, and that’s why the protesters waved hundreds of sex toys and smacked them against the fence around the facility, before some participants eventually began throwing them at police vehicles and officers.
No injuries were reported, and the streets were reopened around 4 p.m.
LAPD said officers would remain in the area to make sure the protesters didn’t return.
