Female airline passenger wedged in middle seat calls out manspreaders: ‘Would they do that with another man?!’

Manspreader, or manchild?

Some might say they’re one and the same — like this female airline passenger who posted a picture of herself squished in the middle seat between two gents who did not keep their legs to their assigned areas.

Posted on Threads under the username @nadiahhollidayrealtor, the woman, Nadia Holliday, shared the maddening pic this Wednesday, which featured her thighs tightly sandwiched between those of the two men, who were seated in the window and aisle seats respectively.

Nadia Holliday, who posted under the username @nadiahollidayrealtor, shared her apparent frustration at the manspreading situation on Threads.

“What it’s like sitting between two men on an airplane,” Holliday wrote in her caption for the post this past Wednesday, featuring a plane and melting face emoji. “And just so we’re clear, I’m in MY seat.”

The post quickly garnered online attention — racking up 12.1K likes and 1.2K comments — with Holliday’s fellow Threads users largely agreeing with her reaction to the social slight and sharing their suggestions on how to handle the situation.

“Tell them to move their damn legs,” commented @elizboyle. “If they don’t, tell the flight attendants they are touching you inappropriately. And say it loud. It’s time we as women stopped putting up with this sh-t.”

“How would they sit if there were three men in a row?! Would they do that with another man?!” said @happyhourgardener.

Or, as @borncinna astutely advised, “Start farting.”

The presumed angry female passenger later claimed that no one was actually uncomfortable during the flight.

Some commenters, on the other hand, appeared to disagree with Holliday.

“We need extra ball room. You don’t,” quipped @joelhagraphy.

“I’m on the shorter end of tall at 6 ‘3,” commented @bhillboy37. “It’s not my fault, I can’t fit into a standard airline seat. That’s on the airlines.”

Holliday later clarified to Newsweek that one of the men in the photo was actually her boyfriend and was not causing her discomfort. Wicitr – stock.adobe.com

However, Holliday clarified to Newsweek that the perceived annoying moment was not all that it appeared to be online — namely, that her boyfriend was one of the men featured in the picture (the one in red shorts) and that he wasn’t causing her to feel cramped. She also said that the post was meant to be taken in a lighthearted way.

“We were all comfortable, and readjusted our legs several times during the flight,” Holliday told Newsweek. “I snapped the pic, and we all had a good little chuckle.”
