LOS ANGELES () — The Los Angeles Unified School District Board of Education is set to vote Tuesday on a proposed “reduction in force” that could lead to thousands of district employees being pushed out of their jobs.
The vote marks the first step in a process that could ultimately result in layoffs at both the district’s central office and individual school sites in an effort to save hundreds of millions of dollars.
If the plan is approved, affected employees could receive formal layoff notices as early as next month.
