Exclusive | Bunny love: NYC couple fell in love after hiring future fiancé on Taskrabbit

They lived hoppily ever after.

Haley Millstein first laid eyes on her future fiancé Hymie Tawil right before Valentine’s Day in 2022 — when she saw his profile on Taskrabbit while searching for a handyman to put together a dresser in her SoHo apartment.

“He has this really professional headshot from back in the days he worked on Wall Street. It said that he spoke English and Hebrew, and I love myself a NJB, Nice Jewish Boy,” Millstein, 30, told The Post.

The Maryland native just purchased the furniture from Target and needed someone to also lug it up the stairs — which other handymen refused to do.

“It happened to me twice. . . . They would actually physically arrive and be like, ‘No ma’am, we’re not doing your job,’” Millstein recalled.

“To be fair, Taskrabbit says when you’re building something, that the client needs to have the package there [in the room] opened and waiting,” added Tawil, 36, a native of Gravesend, Brooklyn.

Tawil wasn’t even looking for another gig that day — but he accepted the Feb. 2 job after seeing her profile picture.

Good thing she wasn’t having a bad ‘hare’ day.

“I was at the end of a long day working in Manhattan and her task came in. And I saw her face and I just couldn’t resist,” he said.

Millstein, an interior designer, was on a work Zoom call when he arrived at her “ski slope of a walkup” on Prince and Mercer streets.

“It was the steepest thing I’ve ever seen. It was probably 40 stairs for two floors to get to her apartment,” he said.

“And he has a size 15 foot, so his whole foot wouldn’t even fit on the stair,” she added.

Once Tawil got to work, he realized a part was missing from the package, so he couldn’t complete the task — but did leave her his number.

“He was like, ‘I feel bad. They’re gonna charge you for this. Text me when you get the right part in, and I’ll come back and assemble it,’” she said.

Tawil had just gotten to his car to leave when he saw he’d already received a text from Millstein.

“I texted him, ‘Hey, sorry to be forward. Any chance you’re single?’” she recalled.

“He’s like, ‘Yeah, why, you interested?’ And I was like, ‘Yeah. You?’ And he was like, ‘Yeah.’ So I was like, ‘Stick around, this work call should be over any second. Let’s grab a drink tonight.’”

However, Tawil had to go back to Brooklyn to let his dog out, but promised he’d return.

“I didn’t realize how far deep into Brooklyn he was,” she said. “At that point, I was tired and didn’t want to go anywhere. So I said, ‘Let’s sweatpants and couch it.’”

To her dismay, he came back with a bottle of Casamigos tequila, wearing a “Tom and Jerry” sweatshirt and “Rick and Morty” socks.

“I was like, ‘Who did I just let into my house? This was such a mistake,’” she recalled.

Once she got over his outfit, they got “pretty drunk” on the couch.

“We have always been a couch couple. I think we tried to go out to dinner once [in NYC],” said Millstein, who now lives with Tawil in Maryland.

Since they just met, she wouldn’t let him sleep over, so once he sobered up, he went back to Brooklyn, only to return the next day.

They even celebrated that Valentine’s Day together, despite the fact that they’d only met less than two weeks prior.

“We did spend it together, on the couch. I got him a thing of Levain cookies because he has a big sweet tooth. And he brought me a teddy bear and some flowers,” she recalled.

Tawil, who still works for Taskrabbit, eventually did put together the dresser responsible for their love story.

“At that time, we were already so serious,” she explained. “So I did it for free,” he said.
