Let’s face it — not everyone wants to watch the 2026 Super Bowl this weekend.
While most people in the country are yelling at their TV or attending Super Bowl parties, some of us simply want nothing to do with all that. And yet, we find ourselves in need of something to fill our time on a Sunday night.
That’s where Watch With Us and Netflix come in. Between new additions and library mainstays, there’s absolutely a great movie in store for you to watch instead of Super Bowl 60.
We’ve got five great picks, featuring stars like Emma Stone, Ryan Gosling and Seth Rogen.
‘Crazy, Stupid, Love’ (2011)
When husband and family man Cal Weaver (Steve Carell) realizes that his wife, Emily (Julianne Moore), has been having an affair, his picture-perfect suburban life begins to unravel. Now over 40, divorced and a stranger to the single life, Cal doesn’t know how to go about getting back into the dating pool. That’s when he meets ladies’ man Jacob Palmer (Gosling), who takes Cal under his wing to reinvent him as a player. Meanwhile, unbeknownst to both Cal and Jacob, Jacob is currently in the process of wooing Cal’s daughter, Hannah (Stone).
This goofy romantic comedy boasts a stellar ensemble cast that also includes Marisa Tomei, Kevin Bacon, Josh Groban and John Carroll Lynch. Ultimately, the narrative is a little commonplace, but it’s the performances from the cast that really elevate Crazy, Stupid, Love above its own material. Still, the film’s climactic “family fight” is an all-timer funny set piece, and it does capture the whirlwind chaos of different types of love.
‘Best in Show’ (2000)
Netflix recently added this Catherine O’Hara classic in honor of the late actress’ recent passing. From mockumentary master Christopher Guest, Best in Show is a largely improvised chronicle of the fictional Mayflower Dog Show and all the eccentric dog owners who come to compete. Here, hundreds of hungry contestants from all over the country converge to see who’s got top dog, from yuppie couple Meg (Parker Posey) and Hamilton Swan (Michael Hitchcock) to Floridians Gerry (Eugene Levy) and Cookie Fleck (O’Hara) and aspiring ventriloquist Harlan Pepper (Guest).
The quirky premise of Best in Show is made all the more memorable by the improv skills of Guest’s talented cast, which includes many of his regular collaborators like Fred Willard, Michael McKean, Jennifer Coolidge and Jane Lynch. Best in Show was so influential that the National Dog Show has since been broadcast to millions of homes for over twenty years directly because of it. The film is a hoot and a half that will leave so many lines of dialogue lodged permanently in your brain.
‘The Ritual’ (2018)
Four college friends reunite for a hiking excursion in Sweden in honor of the recent death of their friend, who had suggested they all take a trip right before he was tragically killed. While traversing the dense wilderness, a shortcut leads Luke (Rafe Spall), Dom (Sam Troughton), Hutch (Robert James-Collier) and Phil (Arsher Ali) down an eerie path marked by mysterious carvings in the trees and a disturbing animal effigy. As their spirited journey turns darker and more deranged, the men have no idea that an ancient evil stalks them.

From director David Bruckner, The Ritual is a folk horror nightmare that sneaks up on you, using atmosphere and tension to create an evocative experience that distracts from the otherwise familiar narrative. The movie excels at creating a prevalent feeling of dread that you can’t escape, resulting in an experience you won’t soon forget.
‘You’ve Got Mail’ (1998)
You’ve Got Mail gives the classic black-and-white film The Shop Around the Corner a modernized update through the magic of email. Struggling small bookstore owner Kathleen (Meg Ryan) hates the owner of a corporate bookstore chain named Joe Fox (Tom Hanks). But online, the two have unknowingly instigated a flirtatious rapport after having anonymously met in an AOL chatroom. When Joe eventually realizes his online crush is his business enemy, he must figure out whether to reveal himself or maintain their rivalry.
This beloved rom-com from Nora Ephron endures to this day through the lovable chemistry between its two leads and the unflappable charm that Ephron imbues into everything she writes. The movie’s cozy, nostalgic atmosphere makes it one of the best romantic comfort watches that doubles as a delightful time capsule to an era of the internet that no longer exists. But, of course, the movie would be nothing without Ryan and Hanks, who shine as one of the best rom-com pairings in movie history.
‘Pineapple Express’ (2008)
Deadbeat stoner Dale Denton (Rogen) spends his days getting high and working as a process server, delivering news to people that they don’t want to receive, all while being a terrible boyfriend to his high school-age girlfriend (Amber Heard). One day, after smoking a new strain called “Pineapple Express” with his dealer, Saul (James Franco), Dale accidentally witnesses a murder by a drug lord and leaves his stash at the scene. When the drug lord (Gary Cole) finds it and identifies the Pineapple Express, he knows exactly where to look and sends his goons to kill Dale and Saul.

Pineapple Express is easily one of the best stoner comedies of all time, but it’s also one of the best “bromance” comedies of all time and a genuinely great action movie as well. Carried the whole way through by hilarious performances from Rogen, Franco, Craig Robinson and Danny McBride, a somewhat scattershot overall narrative and loss of momentum in the second half are excusable because of how funny the jokes are.
