Former Nickelodeon star Kianna Underwood’s father is reportedly asking himself — and others — a painful question in the wake of his daughter’s hit-and-run death.
“So this one time [my partner] Tia Ynvme Taylor and I were in the Catskills and we saw this fox on the road. I could tell it had been hit,” Anthony Underwood, Kianna’s dad, wrote in a since-deleted Facebook post shared on Saturday, January 17, according to People.
“It was a dangerous curved road and I contemplated moving our car into the middle of the road so it wouldn’t get hit again,” he reportedly continued in the post. “But before I could do anything someone came around the corner and didn’t slow down when I started flashing my highbeams. So the driver ran over the fox, I remember the horror I felt when I saw that. Another driver pulled over and picked the fox up who was still alive and put it on the side of the road.”
He continued, “All I can think about is did anyone show my baby that same compassion, as someone ran her over like roadkill. Did anyone try to comfort my baby as she layed dying in the street alone, or did they just stand around with their phones.”
Kianna was identified as the victim of a hit-and-run accident in Brooklyn on Friday, January 16, Us Weekly previously confirmed. The 33-year-old was pronounced dead at the scene.
“On Friday, January 16, 2026, at approximately 0643 hours, police responded to a 911 call of a pedestrian struck at Pitkin Avenue and Mother Gaston Boulevard, within the confines of the 73 Precinct,” a spokesperson for the NYP told Us. “Further investigation by the NYPD Highway District Collision Investigation Squad determined that a black 2021 Ford Explorer SUV, operated by an unidentified individual, was traveling westbound on Pitkin Avenue with a green traffic signal in its favor, as it approached the intersection of Mother Gaston Boulevard.”
The spokesperson continued, “It improperly crossed over the double yellow line and traveled counterflow in the eastbound lane to pass a vehicle that was beginning to make a right turn from westbound Pitkin Avenue to northbound Mother Gaston Boulevard and struck a 33-year-old female pedestrian that was attempting to cross Pitkin Avenue in the marked crosswalk from the northeast to southeast corner, against the pedestrian signal.”
According to authorities, while Kianna was “lying on the roadway” she was “subsequently struck by a black and gray sedan, operated by an unidentified individual.”

“EMS responded and pronounced the pedestrian deceased on the scene,” the spokesperson added. “The operations of the vehicles did not remain on scene. There are no arrests, and the investigation remains ongoing by the NYPD Highway District’s Collision Investigation Squad.”
On Friday, Anthony confirmed his daughter’s untimely death via Facebook, sharing an article about the hit-and-run while asking for privacy.
“Please give me and my family time to process this,” he captioned the status update at the time. “Thank you.” The father also shared a link to a NY Post story regarding the accident.
Kianna was best known for starring on All That. She appeared in seven episodes on the Nickelodeon sketch comedy from 2004 to 2005. Her costars included Saturday Night Live’s Kenan Thompson, Amanda Bynes, Nick Cannon and more.
