Rhode Island Woman Appears to Roll Her Eyes in Mugshot After Allegedly Sending Ex’s ‘Explicit’ Pics to His Mom

A Rhode Island woman arrested earlier this month was clearly not having it, appearing to roll her eyes in a mugshot released by state authorities.

Coventry woman Stephanie Hopkins, 40, is accused of sending “explicit” images of a man she had once been in a relationship with to the man’s mother, police alleged.

Hopkins was arrested just after 4 p.m. on New Year’s Day, the Rhode Island State Police said in a statement, obtained by Patch.

Hopkins was arrested on one count of unauthorized dissemination of indecent material.

It is alleged in the statement that Hopkins’ ex entered a state police barracks in Wickford “and advised that his ex-girlfriend Stephanie Hopkins … sent explicit photos of himself from his old phone to his mother,” Patch reported.

A trooper is said to have called Hopkins a short time later, and she told them the ex-boyfriend “mistreated her throughout her relationship and that she sent his mother the video that ‘[he] would send to dudes’ as retribution for his alleged mistreatment,” the Patch report said.

“Hopkins then informed Troopers that she believed [her ex] was solely doing this as he was arrested for the same crime in May of 2025,” the report said.

Patch said it accessed court records showing a 39-year-old man with the same name as Hopkins’ ex was arrested in May by the Middletown Police on a charge of unauthorized dissemination of indecent material.

Texas woman Courtney Renee Hooper was arrested after she was accused by police of killing her boyfriend on Christmas Eve following an alleged fight. Authorities confirmed in a press briefing on Thursday, December 25, that they responded to a report of a shooting at a residence in Bexar County, Texas, on Wednesday, December 24. Once […]

That man later pleaded no contest to the charge, according to Patch, and was sentenced to a mental health program, 10 days home confinement, and 11 months’ probation.

Speaking to investigators, the ex-boyfriend allegedly said “that he had a brief intimate dating relationship with Hopkins and at the conclusion of the relationship” on New Year’s Eve, he “gave back a cellphone that was a gift from Hopkins. [He] stated that when he returned the phone, he left it as it was and did not factory reset the phone which would have wiped all its contents.”

Those contents included “several explicit videos and pictures that he took of himself,” Patch reported.

He told police that his mother received the compromising images “at approximately 3 a.m. [New Year’s Day].” Hopkins allegedly sent the man’s mother “multiple explicit screenshots of him showing his genitals.”

Troopers then headed to the mother’s house, where she confirmed receiving “videos and photos of her son from the number he had been previously using,” according to the report.

“While on scene, Troopers were shown the bathroom where the photos were taken of the victim,” the report said.

Florida authorities have accused a woman of sending an imprisoned sex offender sexually explicit videos of the 13-year-girl he was convicted of abusing in 2023, according to an arrest affidavit obtained by Us Weekly. Taylor Dorsey, 33, is alleged to have emailed the footage to federal prisoner Stephon Anderson, 31, who is currently serving a […]

Hopkins has a pretrial conference scheduled for January 27. It was unclear if she had entered a plea to the charge against her, and she has no attorney of record yet.

Us Weekly did call numbers associated with Hopkins to give her a chance to respond to the allegations but was unable to connect with her.

It was unclear if she was actually rolling her eyes the moment the mugshot was taken.
