Beth and Rip’s Yellowstone spinoff got an official title after Kayce Dutton’s show was renamed.
During the 2026 Golden Globes on Sunday, January 11, CBS aired a teaser showing a brief clip from Kelly Reilly and Cole Hauser’s highly-anticipated series: Dutton Ranch. The glimpse at Paramount’s upcoming programming slate comes after The Dutton Ranch was used as a working title for the series, which will presumably air either on Paramount Network or on Paramount+.
CBS, meanwhile, has its own spinoff with Luke Grimes titled Marshals, which is scheduled to premiere on March 1. The show recently went through a slight shakeup when the title was changed from Y: Marshals to just Marshals.
All the characters from the fictional Dutton family were originally introduced on Yellowstone. Taylor Sheridan‘s hit series premiered in 2018 and became an instant hit for the network, which inspired prequels including 1883 and 1923.
Another spinoff starring Matthew McConaughey was in the works, but it was seemingly replaced by a different show titled The Madison, starring Michelle Pfeiffer, Patrick J. Adams, Elle Chapman, Matthew Fox, Beau Garrett, Amiah Miller, Kurt Russell and more.

Amid delays and changes, some Yellowstone fans are still waiting for the previously teased 6666 spinoff — which was set to follow Jimmy Hurdstrom (Jefferson White) during his time at the Four Sixes ranch in Texas. Marshals and Dutton Ranch have made more progress as Sheridan, 55, is also focused on non-Yellowstone projects, including Landman.
“Because Paramount trusts me and gives me the time to go shoot 10 to 14 days for a television episode, we can treat it like a movie, and it looks like a movie,” Sheridan told Deadline in January 2022. “We can take the time to rehearse it and light it and build these set pieces. And if I call them and say, ‘I need two helicopters in one day,’ they just go, ‘Alright.’”
He added: “At the end of the day, to go to some of these locations where most people have never been, where you’re opening up a new world, and all of these places or characters in the story, to me, it’s fascinating.”
News broke in October 2025 that Sheridan’s programming would be going through more changes now that he closed a film and TV deal with NBCUniversal. The five-year overall deal for film, TV and streaming is set to begin January 1, 2029, after Sheridan’s TV deal with Paramount — which goes through 2028 — officially ends.
Paramount will retain the rights to Yellowstone and the other franchises Sheridan created under his deal with the company, so he is expected to create brand new IP for NBCUniversal. Sheridan’s move comes after Paramount’s recent merger with Skydance. The change led to the exit of Paramount Global co-CEO Chris McCarthy, who worked closely with Sheridan.
Sheridan previously opened up about not wanting to “compromise” on his storytelling vision, telling The Hollywood Reporter in 2023, “I spent the first 37 years of my life compromising. When I quit acting, I decided that I am going to tell my stories my way, period. If you don’t want me to tell them, fine. Give them back and I’ll find someone who does — or I won’t, and then I’ll read them in some freaking dinner theater. But I won’t compromise. There is no compromising.”
Before his move, however, Sheridan’s Beth and Rip focused spinoff will get off the ground on Paramount. A premiere date has not been announced but it appears to be preparing for a 2026 release with Reilly, 48, and Hauser, 50, reprising their roles alongside Finn Little.
Ed Harris and Annette Bening will also star, alongside Natalie Alyn Lind, Marc Menchaca, Juan Pablo Raba and JR Villareal.
The various Yellowstone spinoffs come after Kevin Costner’s behind the scenes falling out with Sheridan led to the actor’s exit from the hit Paramount series. Instead of continuing with more seasons of Yellowstone, the TV universe was expanded into multiple sequels.
