Man dies after being found in heavy house fire in Van Nuys, Los Angeles Fire Department says

VAN NUYS, LOS ANGELES () — A man died after being rushed to the hospital following a house fire in Van Nuys.

The fire broke out on Friday afternoon at a home in the 6900 block of Burnet Avenue near Marlin Place.

Firefighters say a 50-year-old man was found with serious injuries during the secondary search of the heavily burned house. The man was not immediately identified.

He was pronounced dead at the hospital. Officials did not immediately release the man’s name.

Crews put out the fire in just over 20 minutes, and no firefighters were injured.

The Los Angeles Fire Department is investigating the cause of the deadly fire.
