LOS ANGELES () — Explosive winds roared into Southern California Wednesday night, toppling trees and stirring up trouble in some neighborhoods.
At La Brea Avenue and Clinton Street in the Hollywood area, the winds were so strong it caused scaffolding to come crashing down on the busy street.
Meanwhile, the blustery conditions stretched into the San Fernando Valley where the winds toppled a tree in Granada Hills.
A large eucalyptus tree crushed a car near some homes on Tribune Street and White Oak Avenue. No injuries were immediately reported.
A wind advisory is in effect through 3 a.m. Thursday for a large swath of Los Angeles County, including Santa Clarita, San Fernando Valley, Antelope Valley and Malibu.
Ventura County cities such Thousand Oaks, Simi Valley and Moorpark are also under the same advisory.
