New ‘Vanderpump Rules’ Cast Addresses Backlash and ‘Negativity’ Surrounding Reboot (Exclusive)

The new Vanderpump Rules cast isn’t focused on the haters who have their doubts about the Bravo show’s reboot.

“Honestly, the amount of negativity has just been overshadowed by all of the love, and it’s been so surprisingly overwhelming to feel that,” Audrey Lingle exclusively shared with Us Weekly at the Vanderpump Dog Foundation Gala on Thursday, December 11. “Anything that anyone has said that is negative has just been put in the ground tenfold by the kindness that people have given us.”

According to Venus Binkley, he’s already felt a huge embrace from fans who are visiting Lisa Vanderpump’s restaurant in West Hollywood.

“I just feel very grateful for all the love that we’ve had at SUR and all the fans that have come in,” he said from The Maybourne Beverly Hills. “I know that there’s a lot of hate on the internet, but it just feels really nice to be surrounded by people who do love us, and the cast is sticking together no matter what.”

On Thursday night, many cast members from season 12 of Vanderpump Rules joined James Kennedy, Stassi Schroeder and Beau Clark in celebrating what the Vanderpump Dog Foundation does every year.

Before supporting the nonprofit dog rescue organization, which works on domestic and international fronts to create a better world for dogs, several SUR workers opened up about their new experience as reality TV stars.

“There’s a lot of noise. There’s all different types of feedback — positive and negative — and it’s so easy to get wrapped up in the BS,” Marcus Johnson shared with Us. “But there’s so much positive feedback and support that I’ve just been focused on that and the people that are here to enjoy and get to know us. I’m feeding into that, and I’m drowning out all the rest of it.”

After being able to experience Watch What Happens Live With Andy Cohen alongside her boyfriend, Marcus, Kim Suarez is also focused on the good opportunities that come with sharing her life for reality TV cameras.

“There is a lot of noise,” she pointed out. “So I think these are the parts that we’ve been really trying to enjoy, which is just the support and the excitement, and it’s kind of a, ‘How did we get here?’ kind of moment.”

Vanderpump Rules follows a dynamic group of friends, frenemies and lovers that have been working for Vanderpump at SUR for years.

When season 11 came to an end in October 2024, Bravo and producers decided to revamp the show with a whole new cast.

According to Natalie Maguire, several past cast members have offered their support to the new crew behind the scenes.

“Tom Schwartz was just in SUR this week at our watch party,” she said. “He’s supportive. We just met Stassi inside.”

Audrey added, “She was so supportive, so nice.”

As for online speculation that the ratings may not be as high as expected, Andy Cohen doesn’t appear to be the least concerned.

“[People tell me,] ‘The ratings are so bad for Vanderpump Rules.’ First of all, you don’t know the ratings for Vanderpump Rules,” he said on the Wednesday, December 10, broadcast of SiriusXM’s Andy Cohen Live. “We don’t look at live ratings. I haven’t looked at a live rating for anything on Bravo.”

Vanderpump Rules airs on Bravo Tuesdays at 9 p.m. ET. Stream old episodes anytime on Peacock.
