Secret Lives of Mormon Wives’ Chase McWhorter Breaks Silence on DUI and Cocaine Possession Arrest

Chase McWhorter broke his silence on his DUI and cocaine possession arrest from earlier this year.

“Time to address the elephant in the room. And I don’t have a PR person, so we’re just gonna rawdog this s***,” the Secret Lives of Mormon Wives star, 30, said in a TikTok video uploaded on Thursday, December 4. “The reports you saw yesterday that came out about what happened on July 4 with me are true.”

According to court documents obtained by Us Weekly on Thursday, McWhorter was charged with three misdemeanors back in July. He was charged with possession of a controlled substance, driving under the influence and driving on a suspended or revoked license. He was arrested and bail was set at $2,500.

Authorities pulled McWhorter over after observing “a vehicle driven by a male, later identified as [Chase], who was unable to maintain his speed and drifted outside of the travel lane several times, almost hitting a curb,” per a police report obtained by The Sun. Law enforcement “detected the odor of alcohol and observed he had bloodshot, glassy eyes and slurred speech” when they approached McWhorter. After being read his rights, McWhorter “admitted to drinking at a bar and using cocaine before driving.”

Carl Radke has been candid about the ups and downs in his sobriety — much of which was captured on Summer House. The Pittsburgh native has been on the Bravo hit since its 2017 premiere. After four seasons of drunken antics with his costars, he got sober in spring 2020. Radke started drinking again, however, […]

“I was pulled over for driving under the influence, had ingested substances that I shouldn’t have and got behind the wheel of a car,” McWhorter continued on Thursday. “Extremely shortsighted, selfish and dangerous decision. And shout-out to the cop for helping people stay safe on the road, because it could have ended much worse than it did.”

McWhorter explained that earlier in the day he attended a “pool party” at a friend’s house. While he planned to stay at the location all day, he ended up leaving early after a “fight broke out.” He decided that since his house was “a few miles away” he would leave and “sleep off” his inebriated state.

“I should have Ubered, but for some reason, I decided to drive home, and that decision alone kills people every single day,” he admitted. “I understand the severity of it. Obviously, it was a humiliating low being pulled over and taken in. Terrible look for me.”

Chase shared that he told ex-wife Miranda McWhorter what happened. (The pair were married from 2017 to 2024 and share kids Brooks, 6, and Cohen, 4.)

“Unfortunately, I have been a disappointment to [Miranda] a number of times throughout the time she’s known me, both as a partner and now as a coparent,” he said. “So, that sucks.”

Chase went on to express his regrets for making a “horrible decision” that could have put people in “real danger.” He is also working with an attorney to face the consequences of his actions.

“I am deeply regretful of the decision that I made, and sorry for how it looks, and to everyone that was on the road that day, because obviously that is how people lose lives,” he reflected. “So extremely sorry about all of it and disappointed damn near everybody around me because of that choice, and I’m dealing with those consequences as well as, you know, anything that happens legally beyond that. So, apologies, I wanted you to hear it from me that it did happen, and it won’t happen again.
I’m sorry.”

Chase has appeared multiple times on The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives as Miranda stars on the Hulu series.
