ALTADENA, Calif. () — The home of some longtime Altadena residents impacted by the Eaton Fire is getting closer to completion.
Kenneth and Carol Wood lived in Altadena for more than 40 years when the firestorm destroyed their house.
The Woods recalled fondly how they watched their grandchildren take their first steps in this community, which they valued for their view of the mountains.
Friday, employees from 7 and Disney returned to Altadena to lend a helping hand on the Wood family home.

There’s been lots of progress since we showed you the house earlier this month.
We saw drywall has since been installed inside the home, while Disney VoluntEARS spent their Friday outdoors hammering, caulking, and clearing debris.
San Gabriel Valley Habitat for Humanity broke ground on the house and accessory dwelling unit (ADU) last October.
Habitat said it expects construction to wrap in February.
The Wood family’s home is the first of at least 25 houses it hopes to tackle in coming months.
This Disney VoluntEARS gathering is just one part of the company’s ongoing commitment to help L.A. County recover from the firestorm.
