Mikayla Matthews is ready to close her chapter on The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives.

“Zero regrets for me,” she told Us exclusively at the Minky Couture Takes NYC VIP Red Carpet Celebration with Page Six‘s Virtual Reali-Tea in New York City on Friday, October 23, kicking off the Utah-born brand’s three-day pop-up experience. “I feel like this is the decision I made from the very beginning … so no regrets there.”

Fellow Mormon Wives star Mayci Neely added that she’s “playing it by ear for now” when it comes to her future involvement in the reality series.

“I don’t know how much longer I’ll continue or if I will,” Mayci said.

Fans were introduced to Mikayla and Mayci when Mormon Wives premiered on Hulu in 2024. The series followed a group of influencers in Salt Lake City — a.k.a. “MomTok” — including Taylor Frankie Paul, Whitney Leavitt, Jen Affleck, Jessi Draper, Layla Taylor and Demi Engemann. (Miranda Hope joined the cast for season 2, while Demi stepped away after season 4.)

Shortly after season 5 dropped in September, Mikayla announced she was leaving the show due to Taylor’s involvement. (Production was previously paused on season 5 amid an alleged domestic incident between Taylor and her ex Dakota Mortensen. Dakota eventually earned temporary custody of the pair’s 2-year-old son, Ever, with Taylor being granted supervised visits.)

“I’ve said from the beginning of this that I’m not comfortable being a part of something that continues to platform behavior I don’t agree [with] especially given my own experience growing up in a home with multiple forms of abuse,” Mikayla wrote in a social media statement last month, confirming her exit. “There’s no amount of money worth going against my morals or changing the stance I’ve had since I first saw and heard the things that made me feel this strongly.”

Mikayla claimed that “continuing to directly profit from this behavior feels wrong and unethical,” saying, “It feels like a disservice to the children, everyone’s healing and the millions of people watching.”

She continued, “This show has been a huge part of my life and has helped me provide for my family. I’m so grateful for the experience, and will continue sharing my story, my health and advocating for myself and others ❤️ This shouldn’t be ‘relatable’ or entertainment in anyway.”

When Taylor seemingly hinted at her own departure from Mormon Wives that same month, Mikayla clarified her plans weren’t changing.

“No, I will not be coming back. … Don’t know what the future holds, but I think we can collectively agree that a lot of changes need to be made,” she wrote via her Instagram Story.

While the OG Mormon Wives series navigates its recent shakeups, the franchise is expanding with The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives: Orange County following a group of women in Southern California — including Mayci’s sister, McCall DaPron.

When asked on Friday whether they had any plans to join the spinoff, Mayci and Mikayla hesitated.

“We definitely have more things in the works together before another Secret Lives, I think,” Mikayla told Us.

Mayci quipped, “If I moved to OC, I don’t think I would be going on that show, to be honest.”

The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives is available to stream on Hulu. The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives: Orange County premieres November 12.
