LOS ANGELES — The music of top-selling artist Mariah Carey was the center of the celebration for week four of “Dancing with the Stars.” All three judges, Derek Hough, Carrie Ann Inaba and Bruno Tonioli, thought it was the best night they’ve seen so far with plenty of breakthrough routines.

Here’s a list of the judges’ scores, from highest to lowest:

Maura Higgins and Mark Ballas perform a waltz to “If It’s Over.”
Carrie Ann said she got emotional watching their artistry and she felt transported. Derek called it a classic waltz with no gimmicks or tricks, just beautiful, pure ballroom dancing. Bruno said Maura has royal poise and the dance was gorgeous.

Jenna Dewan and Val Chmerkovskiy perform a rumba to “My All.”
Derek thought the quality of movement was stunning. Bruno thought they showed the light and shade of pure artistry. Carrie Ann reminded Jenna that this show is about transformation, and she appreciates Jenna showing vulnerability.

Ezra Frech and Daniella Karagach perform a rumba to “Anytime You Need a Friend.”
Bruno thinks their charisma is unbelievable and routine was razor focused. Carrie Ann complimented Ezra on his various landings with power and grace. Derek thought it was sophisticated and connected.

Harry Shum Jr. and Jenna Johnson perform a tango to “It’s Like That.”
His “Glee” co-star Amber Riley was part of the vocals! Carrie Ann called the dance masterful, controlled and dynamic. Derek said it was sharp, precise and musical and he likes them to take chances. Bruno said what they put into the dance was of the best quality.

Amber Glenn and Pasha Pashkov perform a rumba to “Hero.”
Carrie Ann called her powerful and divine in the way she moves but asked her to breathe a little more. Derek thinks this is a beautiful partnership. Bruno praised her for not losing the flow of the dance.

Tyler Cameron and Sharna Burgess perform a foxtrot to “#Beautiful.”
Bruno thought the dance was elegant and proper and his improvement was incredible. Carrie Ann praised his leadership and support of his partner. Derek called it a beautiful partnership that connects.

Ciara Miller and Brandon Armstrong perform jazz to “Emotions” to kick off the show.
Derek praised the routine as fun, and it let her personality “bubble” out. Bruno said it was well presented with a great storyline. Carrie Ann said it was her best dance so far.

Jackson Olson and Emma Slater perform a waltz to “Without You.”
Bruno saw a transformation this week. Carrie Ann agreed and said it makes her happy to see him tapping into a love of dance.

Julia Stiles and Ezra Sosa perform a Viennese waltz to “Vision of Love.”
Bruno said she had the correct movement that the Viennese waltz requires, and the elegance and grace was there. Carrie Ann called the routine a breakthrough with beautiful lines and beautiful expressions. Derek thought it was beautiful but reminded Julia to breathe!

Tatyana Ali and Jan Ravnik perform jazz to “Fantasy.”
Carrie Ann appreciates her storytelling and the way she can step into a character but was looking for a little more energy. Derek thinks she’s blossoming and charismatic, but loves the build that is happening. Bruno appreciated the dance looked like old time MTV moves.

Connor Wood and Rylee Arnold perform a rumba to “Touch My Body.”
Derek feels like Connor is slowly stepping into the leading man role but reminded him not to play it safe. Bruno loved the routine and the expression, told him to always go for it but work on technique. Carrie Ann thought he dared himself a little more and that’s a good thing.

Guillermo Rodriguez and Witney Carson perform a samba to “Obsessed.”
Derek said the dance wasn’t quite a samba, but it was 100% Guillermo! Bruno told Guillermo he understands why he’s becoming a national obsession because we can’t stop watching him. Carrie Ann thought him “dimmed his light” a little bit and she doesn’t ever want him to do that.

In the end, with the judges scores combined with viewer votes, Ciara and Brandon were voted off this week.

For week five, things will be focused around the fun and excitement of the Super Bowl.
