A Chilean fruit supplier has expanded a recall of its frozen organic berries, which were sold in Walmarts and Trader Joe’s stores across the United States.
The products, made by Frutas y Hortalizas del Sur S.A., were linked to an E. coli outbreak that infected 17 people and hospitalized six in Florida and Georgia, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). There were no reported deaths.
The company updated its recall Friday to include additional lots of its Great Value frozen Organic Triple Berry Blend and Great Value frozen Organic Blueberries.
Another lot of Trader Joe’s frozen Organic Mixed Berry Blend was also added to the recall, according to a bulletin from the Food and Drug Administration (FDA).
The recalled Great Value products — with universal product numbers 7874211226 and 7874211213 — were shipped to Walmart stores across 30 states, including Alabama, Arkansas, Connecticut, Florida, Georgia, Iowa, Illinois, Indiana, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Mississippi, North Carolina, North Dakota, Nebraska, New Jersey, New York, Ohio, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, South Dakota, Tennessee, Texas, Virginia, Wisconsin, and West Virginia, along with the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico.

The recalled Trader Joe’s berries were on the shelves of stores in 26 states, including Alabama, Arkansas, Colorado, Delaware, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maryland, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, North Carolina, Ohio, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, Virginia, and Wisconsin, along with the District of Columbia.
Consumers who still have the recalled products in their freezers are urged to throw them away or return them to the store where they were purchased.
The Florida Department of Health first notified the CDC of the E. coli outbreak in July 2026.
On Sept. 21, the CDC closed the investigation into the outbreak.
Walmart and Trader Joe’s did not immediately respond to FOX Business’ requests for comment.
