Ultra-luxe Yosemite glamping experience just launched — but space is limited and stays start at $370 a night

Roughing it just got a serious upgrade.

Luxury outdoor hospitality brand Under Canvas has opened a new glamping retreat near Yosemite National Park, offering travelers a chance to experience the great outdoors without giving up modern comforts — at a price that can climb as high as $650 per night.

The newly launched Under Canvas Yosemite sits on roughly 85 acres in Groveland, just minutes from the park’s Big Oak Flat entrance, positioning guests within easy reach of one of the most popular national parks in the United States.

Instead of pitching a tent or booking a traditional lodge, visitors can stay in what the brand calls “safari-inspired” canvas tents outfitted with real beds, wood floors and, in many cases, private bathrooms.

The season property operates from mid-April through late October and includes more than 70 upscale tents designed to immerse guests in nature while maintaining a boutique hotel-style experience.

Amenities include café-style dining, nightly campfires, guided outdoor activities and stargazing experiences designed to help visitors explore the surrounding Sierra Nevada landscape.

The Yosemite opening marks a major milestone for Under Canvas, representing the company’s first California location after expanding its upscale glamping concept near national parks across the country — including at Moab, Grand Canyon, West Yellowstone and Mount Rushmore.

But the premium experience comes at a premium price.

A booking for the weekend of June 19-21 shows an average nightly rate of about $626 for an advance purchase reservation, or roughly $659 per night for a fully refundable stay, based on pricing listed on the companies website at the time of publishing.

Demand for experience-driven travel has surged in recent years, with many visitors seeking nature-focused getaways that still offer hotel-style amenities and curated activities.

With limited availability and strong demand expected, travelers hoping to secure a stay may need to plan ahead.
