Life is a swing — and these are the best places to enjoy the ride.
A new list from adult retailer LoveHoney has revealed the best US states for swingers, and a trio of Southern states is on top.
“Swinging is all about consent and mutual pleasure. You need a good community around you for it to feel safe, sexy, and fun. So, we wanted to find out which states offer the strongest signs of an active swinger-friendly scene,” LoveHoney said of the list.
The list analyzed each US state using nine factors, including Google search interest for swinging-related terms, the number of swingers clubs, swinger-related Reddit activity, bars and hotels per capita, and the percentage of married residents in each state. Each state was given a ranking out of 10.
The list doesn’t tell you how many swingers are in each state, but rather looks at public data that indicates a state’s level of interest and openness to the practice.
Florida topped the list, boasting 148 swingers clubs — the most in the country. The state has a bustling swingers community on Reddit, according to LoveHoney.
Texas and Georgia round out the top three. The Lone Star State has the second-highest number of swingers clubs, while Georgia has club availability, high search interest and Reddit activity.
Despite hosting one of the largest swingers conventions in the country, Louisiana — home of Nawty N’Awlins in New Orleans — only made it to the No. 13 spot.
Fourth on the list, Nevada has the highest level of swingers-related search interest, with searches including “swingers near me” and “swinger clubs.”
California ranked sixth overall, but the Golden State has the largest swingers Reddit community in the country, with 78,000 weekly visitors and 6,800 weekly posts.
New York clocked in at number eight on the list, with 30 swingers clubs and 9,000 weekly visitors to Reddit communities associated with swinging.
Rounding out the top 10 are Ohio at number nine and Michigan at number 10. The midwestern states each had a healthy number of visitors to Reddit swinging communities.
Delaware came in dead last on the list. LoveHoney was unable to find a single active swingers community for the state on Reddit.
LoveHoney urged potential swingers to do research about “lifestyle etiquette, consent, and local community expectations” before heading off to a swinging destination.
“Every club and event has its own culture, and arriving informed helps create a more enjoyable experience for everyone,” the company said.
They recommended checking out the National Coalition for Sexual Freedom (NCSF) for resources on consent, privacy, and consensual non-monogamy, as well as the website Swing Lifestyle (SLS), which provides event listings and educational articles on swinging.
