Taylor Frankie Paul’s mom, Liann May, is giving her candid thoughts after watching her daughter on The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives season 5.
“I think that this season was the worst season that I have watched you. It wasn’t like watching you,” Liann said in a TikTok video earlier this week. “It just seems like season after season, you’ve gotten away from who you are as a person, and so that was heavy to watch, and it has been not fun to watch, especially as not just the audience, but as your mother.”
“I thought the season was ew, ew, ew,” Liann added.
The five-episode fifth season of Secret Lives of Mormon Wives dropped on Hulu on September 10. It followed Taylor’s return from filming The Bachelorette and then sleeping with ex Dakota Mortensen despite getting engaged to Doug Mason. The MomTok influencer also rekindled her romance with former flame Ben Lambert and got into an explosive argument with Mikayla Matthews and Mayci Neeley at the end of the season.
“I did not like the way that you and D-bag talk to each other. It was gross and I hope that my grandkids never, never get to see that,” Liann continued, seemingly referring to Dakota.
“Then also the bath scene with Ben was so disgusting, and I’m not talking about you drinking through the faucet, even though that’s gross too because of New York water,” Taylor’s mom said. “But just having him there and you getting validation from these men. I know that you’re hurting, but it just wasn’t right, and so I hope that you can continue to progress like you’ve been, and I hope that you are a completely different person on season 6 if you decide that you want to do that.”

Liann also said she hopes Taylor can rebuild her friendships in MomTok, noting, “You are kind and you are loving. It’s hard to watch you be so mad at your friends.”
“I would love to see a new and improved Taylor Frankie Paul on the next season,” she added. “I would love to see MomTok and all the girls coming together and cultivating those relationships that you once had. … I hope that you girls can all become friends again.”

Production on season 5 was paused earlier this year after news broke of an alleged domestic dispute between Taylor, 32, and Dakota, 33, with whom she shares son Ever. Taylor is currently involved in custody disputes with both Dakota and ex-husband Tate Paul, with whom she shares daughter Indy, 9, and son Ocean, 6.
Earlier this week, Mikayla, 26, announced her exit from Mormon Wives after learning that Taylor would be filming for the upcoming sixth season.
“I’ve said from the beginning of this that I’m not comfortable being a part of something that continues to platform behavior I don’t agree especially given my own experience growing up in a home with multiple forms of abuse,” she said via Instagram on Monday, September 14. “There’s no amount of money worth going against my morals or changing the stance I’ve had since I first saw and heard the things that made me feel this strongly.”
“The only reason I’m leaving the show is because I was told a certain person was coming back … because it’s unethical and kids are involved,” Mikayla reiterated in a subsequent post on Tuesday, September 15. “I’m being put in an unfair position because of the things I’ve seen and heard that I don’t agree with. I filmed [season] 6 ‘cause that person was not there. Then we were told she was coming back.”
