Doomsday has been delayed.

A South African pastor who bungled his prophecy of the Rapture claims that the end is still nigh — it has simply been postponed.

Joshua Mhlakela of South Africa claimed that the Biblical event — the end of humanity marked by Jesus whisking his followers up to heaven, per the New Testament — will not occur on September 23 as previously predicted but will now go down early next week, the Daily Mail reported.

“God told me because there’s no other date coming out, 12 to 13 October, which is the true feast of trumpets, which is when I will be meeting my savior face to face in The Rapture,” said the self-proclaimed prophet in a Youtube clip.

The religious figure flipped the script-ure after his previous heavenly forecast didn’t come to fruition despite him insisting on September 17 that that was “the final date.”

Unfortunately, his legions of followers swallowed his prophecy hook, line and sinker. Many allegedly quit their jobs and sold heir homes and cars in anticipation of Armageddon.

“I didn’t do my exams because I [thought] it doesn’t matter,” one crestfallen believer wrote on Tiktok with a crying emoji — one day after realizing that the apocalypse wasn’t now. “Now look at me.”

They had reportedly felt snookered by the Messiah’s so-called middleman, who had claimed both God and Jesus came to him in visions to inform him when The Rapture would take place and what Judgment Day and Christ’s second coming would look like.

However, Mhlakela claimed that this prediction revision was not an error, but simply based on a vision in which the Savior said this come-to-Jesus moment would occur at a later date.

He said his early divination had been off by about a month because the Passover celebration was transpiring under the astrological sign of Pisces.

He insisted the “true” passover would occur when the sun is in Aries just like in the Exodus story detailing the Israelites’ departure from Egypt. This allowed him to shift the heavenly goalposts to October.

However, as many bible scholars have pointed out, the sun wasn’t in Aries during the Biblical Exodus.

Meanwhile, other penitents have frequently accused Mhlakela of crackpottery.

Last September, Youtube preacher Vladimir Savchuk declared that “if someone sets the date [of the Rapture], they are directly contradicting Jesus’s word.”

Meanwhile, one theologian on Youtube quipped that the South African seer was likely correct as the “Bible says there’ll be false prophets wen [sic] the time is near.”
