LOS ANGELES () — A dramatic rescue after a car crash was captured on Los Angeles police bodycam video.
The video, which was shared by the department on Tuesday, shows an officer arriving at the scene of a crash on July 21.
“Hey brother, can you hear me?” the officer asked as he crouched under the car.
The officer is seen gathering a group of bystanders to help lift a car and save a victim who was trapped underneath.
“Hey, can you guys help me try to lift this thing?” he asked the group. “We gotta try, man.”
LAPD says the victim survived, and it was all thanks to the teamwork of everyone involved.
The department shared the bodycam video on social media, paired with Bonnie Tyler’s “Holding Out for a Hero.”
“Phenomenal job to all involved for effectively saving a victim who was pinned underneath a car following a crash. We are happy to say that he has survived, thanks to the teamwork displayed here,” LAPD wrote on social media.
The department did not share further details about the circumstances of the crash or where it happened. They also did not share the officer’s name.
