Khloé Kardashian isn’t ruling out finding love with someone new after her split from Tristan Thompson — but she’s not interested in welcoming a child with a future partner.

“When you have a baby, it’s forever. So, choose wisely, people,” Khloé, 42, told Kris Jenner in the Thursday, October 15, episode of The Kardashians.

Khloé said her past relationships affected her outlook regarding future family planning, adding, “In my dating life, I’ve been through a lot of situations that have caused me trauma. I’m not gonna ‘woe is me’ about the trauma. I think what is ideal is to be with someone else and not necessarily have kids with that person.”

The reality star, who shares two kids with ex Tristan, 35, further explained that she doesn’t want to facilitate a situation that could potentially cause more division.

Looking forward to the future. Following Khloé Kardashian‘s ups and downs with Tristan Thompson, the reality star has addressed her complicated outlook on finding The One. Kardashian and Thompson started dating in September 2016 and announced that they were expecting a child together one year later. Days before their daughter True’s arrival in 2018, the […]

“I don’t want me and my husband to have kids, and then my kids feel like, ‘Oh, we’re not as important because their daddy lives in this house,’” she explained. “I don’t want to cause a lot of disruption within my household because I love the way it is.”

Khloe also hinted she isn’t ruling out to have more kids.

“I own the embryo [with Tristan] outright. Don’t even need to tell Tristan that this is happening because I own them,” she added. “They’re my embryos. When we broke up, I had him sign that I could have it. And it’s legally done. So it’s my embryo.”

She continued, “But I don’t know if I have the bandwidth to have another baby. … I love sisters and I do believe that every girl needs a sister and I personally would love another daughter. But also, I’m getting older and it’s a lot. I just feel like, I don’t know if this is something I can handle.”

Khloé defended her decision to only use an embryo that she and Tristan created, saying, “I’m gonna say that the surrogate is pregnant. Or I’m gonna not have another baby. Marriage, you can divorce them. If you don’t have kids, you don’t have to see them again.”

In the past, Khloé has been candid about how her past relationships — and motherhood — played a role in not being in a rush to find a new partner. Before their split, Khloé and Tristan dated off-and-on from 2016 to 2021, ultimately calling it quits for good after his multiple cheating scandals.

“Tristan and I, we always get along great. Him and I have a great friendship-relationship. We get along fine, and for my kids, I will put anything to the side. What’s done is done, so why would I be still holding on to [past drama] for?” Khloé said on The Kardashians in June 2023. “I don’t need to punish him because I am not getting back together with him.”

Khloé credited enforced boundaries for helping her start fresh with Tristan.

“If I am not here, he is here. I would rather him be here than a nanny. There are still boundaries. Like, I definitely put my foot down on a lot of things,” she added. “No one is here chilling if there are no kids involved. It is always about the kids and that’s what it is. But we are not hanging out by ourselves.”
